To all our valued friends and customers, the team at Tibooburra is pleased to share our ever-evolving story and product information with you. Good news or bad, we bring it direct to you from the hills of Yellingbo in the Upper Yarra.

"Your time starts now"

With all the brouhaha surrounding Masterchef, we here at Tibooburra have been watching the show with more than a passing interest. With all those pressure tests, fantastic dishes, group hugs and man-tears, it's been a rather compelling mix of theatre. And good luck to you Adam Liaw - you deserved the title prize!

But why, might you wonder, am I prattling on about a television cooking show when I should be promoting wine. At risk of stating the obvious, food and wine make great dinner-table companions, and further to that we don't mind "dining out" on some Masterchef connections of our own.

A number of the restaurants featured on the show, carry the Solitude label: George Calombaris' Press Club (the 2008 Sauvignon Blanc) Matt Moran's Aria (the 2008 Chardonnay and 2008 Pinot Noir), while Luke Mangan's Glass at the Sydney Hilton will soon list the wine.

Sommeliers at these restaurants typically look for styles that possess good, lingering structure and aromatics, subtlety and a genuine point of difference: attributes that we believe our wines deliver in spades.

The Solitude Sauvignon Blanc is flinty with a bit of Sancerre styling. It's crisp, natural acidity makes it a great accompaniment to a wide spectrum of seafood dishes and Asian stir fries.

The Solitude Pinot Noir is a complex, beguiling wine, with hints of strawberry, rose petal and forest floor characters - a wine to be savoured over formal meals, even barbecues and tapas if the mood strikes; come to think of it, it would go beautifully with Adam's three-way belly pork!

The Solitude Chardonnay, which was rated 94 points by the Wine Front, and James Halliday in the 2011 Australian Wine Companion, has citrus and brioche characters, with a lemony, mineral finish that suits seafood and chicken dishes, and is a lavish accompaniment to those Friday night fish & chips.

We are offering a mixed dozen of 2008 Solitude wines, as well as a special "collector's mix" featuring three different Tibooburra /Solitude labels. The usual 15 % discount applies to both mixes for Friends of Tibooburra.

It's a great way to stock up for winter, and to hit the ground running with your outdoor entertaining in spring. Simply fill in one of the order forms, email or fax it back and we can have the wine delivered to you within 48 hours. (See links to price lists / tasting notes).
